Tim Kocher became the Head Athletic Trainer in August 2018. Previously, he worked as a Community Outreach Athletic Trainer for Hillsborough Community College.

A native of Michigan, Tim came to Tampa to attend the University of Tampa. After his graduation, he began his career with the Hillsborough County School District where he served as a Physical Education Department Chair and Athletic Trainer. He was also an Associate Athletic Trainer with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he served as a Clinical Preceptor for the Athletic Training Education Program for the University of South Florida College of Medicine.

During his career, he has worked with numerous amateur and professional athletes at local, state, national and international events and competitions. Each January, he volunteers on the Sports Medicine staff at the East-West Shrine College All Star Football Game sponsored by the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children.

In 2008, he received the prestigious honor of being inducted into the Athletic Trainer’s Association of Florida Hall of Fame. All of this has made Tim a veteran member of the Sports Medicine community in Tampa.
