The Lady Hawks tennis team begins the spring semester with eager anticipation of besting last year’s record. The team’s schedule was recently announced with the first match taking place on January 20th. Lady Hawks Head Coach and Athletic Director Sarah Lytle is expecting that practice and experience will pay off, stating “We have a strong sophomore class along with highly motivated and talented freshmen. I believe if we work hard on the practice court the results will speak for themselves.”
The lady hawks will continue tuning up in a scrimmage match against Savannah College of Art and Design on Saturday January 21st. The team faces exceptional opponents this spring in their drive to best their previous accolades. The Lady Hawks enter the season as the NJCAA National Runners Up in their previous five seasons, with a goal of becoming champions for the first time since 2008. Strongly considered favorites for both the NJCAA National Championship and the FCSAA Championship, they will continue to build upon the work put in on the practice courts to build success this season.
