The 2024 Lady Hawks Team Sets Sights on State and National Titles

The Lady Hawks tennis team begins the spring semester with eager anticipation of matching last year’s State and National Championship results. The team has already begun the semester with several scrimmages against top 10 nationally ranked NCAA Division 2 programs. These matches should prepare them for their first NJCAA Region 8 match against Eastern Florida State College on February 8th.

The Lady Hawks return three sophomores who helped the 2023 team earn the NJCAA National Championship Title: Yoana Dudova, Rocio Martinez, and Paula Cabrer. Head Coach and Athletic Director, Sarah Lytle, is “excited for our sophomores to be able to fight for another FCSAA State and NJCAA National Championship Title. The goal is to put ourselves in the position to win.  I want our sophomores to be able to say they fought for two State and National Titles.”

In addition to the returning sophomores, the Lady Hawks will feature six freshmen. Catherine Goldman is coming off a historic fall season where she won the ITA Regional Championship in both singles and doubles and earned a bid to the ITA Cup Small College National Tournament. At the ITA Cup, Catherine placed 3rd in singles and 2nd in doubles with partner, Yoana Dudova. Sanne Schoormans  is also coming off a strong fall season having made it to the semifinals in singles and doubles at the ITA Regional Tournament. Adeola Greatorex is another promising freshman who had a strong showing at ITA Regionals by making it to the quarterfinals.
