The hawks upset #22 nationally ranked opponent, Florida Southwestern State College, claiming the first win against the buccaneers at Hillsborough Community College in the history of the program.
Leading the way for the hawks were sophomores Georden Rogers with 17 points & 7 rebounds, Jasper Floyd with 13 points & 6 rebounds, Zach Johnson with 9 points and 4 rebounds, and DJ Gooden with 9 points and 3 rebounds. Coach Coleman was proud of the team stating, "our sophomores stepped up in a must win game against one of the best teams in the nation. We have to continue to get better and be ready for Miami Dade."
The hawks are currently 14-6 overall and 1-3 in southern conference play. Their next game is against Miami Dade College on Wednesday, January 25th at 7:30 pm. Click here to view the schedule.
