In 2013, William "Billy" Colome joined the coaching staff as the Hawk's Infield Coach.

Billy's playing career started as a shortstop in Miami, Florida at Miami Southridge Senior High, where he was a 1995 All-State/All-Dade selection his senior year. He went on to attend Broward Community College from 1996-1997 and was awarded the 1997 NJCAA All-American (NCBWA) and All-Conference selections. Before leaving Broward, he graduated with an Associate in Arts in General Studies.

From there, Billy completed his college career at College of Charleston, South Carolina, where he was a 2 time All-Conference selection (1998 TAAC/1999 Southern) and 1999 All-American selection (Louisville Slugger and Baseball America). In 1999, he signed a free-agent professional contract and spent 2 years in the Minor and Independent League. In 2004, College of Charleston retired Billy's number and inducted him in the Cougar's Hall of Fame. He graduated from College of Charleston with a Bachelor in Science in Health Administration.

Billy spent 6 years (2005-2011) as a player/manager for NABF Champions Tampa Elite (2010). He also spent the previous 6 years as the Head Coach for East Bay High School in Hillsborough County. 

Billy resides in Apollo Beach, Florida and teaches mathematics at East Bay High School. He is married to Heather and has kids, Brianna and Cooper.
