Landry is an impressive athlete not just on the field but in the classroom as well. One of her biggest accomplishments while here at HCC is her GPA. Laundry has a 3.8 cumulative GPA which is not easy when you play over 50 games in a season. Student athletes really have to challenge themselves and stay disciplined to find a balance when playing their sports and loading up their academic schedule.

Landry has some big goals set for herself for the 2020 season. She stated she wants to do anything she can to help the team have a winning season. She is not a very vocal person but her role on the team is very vital. She is the silent leader. One way Landry mentally prepares for the game is doing all her superstitions and reading a chapter out of her mental toughness book.

One of Morgan’s biggest obstacles while here at HCC is in 2018 she suffered a shoulder injury leaving her to redshirt one year. Because of this injury though it has set her up for a huge comeback.  Morgan has plans on continuing her softball career at the next level if the opportunity presents itself.

In the interview Morgan was asked who her biggest influence was. She mentioned her biggest influence has always been her dad. He’s always motivated her to best the best she can be, in softball and life. With that being said Morgan values what athletics has given to her. Being an athlete has taught her so many life lessons. One of the biggest ones it has taught her is to never give up, and that no dream is ever too big.

Playing softball has had a big influence on Cerynn. One of the life lessons being an athlete is it has helped her learn more about herself. Being an athlete has helped guide her to have self-discipline, leadership skills, and how to cherish every opportunity presented. One person that has influenced her the most is her high school softball coach from West Orange, Todd LaNeave. He gave her the confidence she needed to become the player she strive to be each and every day. He pushed Cerynn to reach her goals of become a state champion. In addition, he guided her to become a wiser softball player and a supportive team player.

One of the biggest fears Cerynn has is, is being afraid of not being the best athlete she can be for the team and not following her dreams.

When Cerynn is not on the softball field or in the classroom she liked to spend time with friends and family, especially her two younger siblings.

Everyone in the family played this sport. Gabie explained, “It is all I’ve known since I could remember. Softball is my heart and I don’t believe I wouldn’t be the person I am today without this sport.”

Gabie has a protective, assuage characteristic about her that draws teammates in. She loves to be the person they can go to for advice. Her main role for the team this season is to be the positive influencer to her teammates. Gabie wants to push her teammates to successes and ensure they can be prime mentally and physically.
