Monica Ewalt has served on the HCC Volleyball staff since 2004 and was named Associate Head coach in August of 2010.

While at HCC, Monica has been selected twice as the AVCA National Assistant Coach of the Year, first in 2009 and again in 2015. She has helped guide the Hawks to 7 National Championship appearances, 5 Conference Championships and has trained multiple NJCAA All-Americans. Her dedication and commitment to her players has allowed her to help numerous student-athletes gain athletic scholarships to a wide variety of colleges across the country, including NCAA Division I, Division II and NAIA institutions. As a player and HCC Volleyball alumni, she earned the honor of team captain her sophomore year.

In addition to coaching at HCC, Monica holds the title of Associate Director with the Tampa United Volleyball Academy and was named to the Executive Board of Directors in 2007. While at Tampa United, Monica has led her teams to multiple bids to the Junior National Championships and has become known as one of the top private-lessons instructors in the Tampa Bay area. Monica also works with Pura Vida Volleyball Inc., a volleyball apparel company that designs and produces volleyball specific attire for youth and adults.

Monica and her husband Luke were married in January of 2016 and reside in Tampa, Florida, where she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
