Lady Hawk Earns an FCSAA Scholar-Athlete Award

Congratulations Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya on receiving the Vicki Schnurr Scholar-Athlete Award for Women's Tennis

The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has announced the 2021-22 Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award winners for each FCSAA sanctioned sport. Hillsborough Community College's, Viktoryia Zhadzinksaya, was selected by the women's tennis coaches committee as this year's Vicki Schnurr Scholar Athlete Award Winner.

The Vicki Schnurr Award is presented to one student athlete on an FCSAA sanctioned tennis team. Out of the twenty-four athletes, and many qualified nominees, Viktoryia surpassed the criteria, (accumulation of 48 credit hours with a minimum 3.30 GPA and a completion of at least three full-time terms, one being at a FCSAA institution) coming out on top.

Viktoryia has a GPA of 3.79 and is on track to graduate in July. She will earn her Associates degree in biological science and plans to continue her studies at Colorado State University where she will also continue her tennis career.

Viktoryia has accomplished the following while attending Hillsborough Community College:

  • 2022 NJCAA All-America honors by virtue of her Flight #3 singles championship helping the Lady Hawks Tennis Team finish second at the NJCAA National Tournament two years in a row (2021 & 2022)
  • NJCAA National Runner up in 2021 #1 Flight Doubles Team
  • FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 State Singles Flight #3 Champion 2022
  • FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 State Singles Flight #3 Champion 2021
  • FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 State Champion 2022 #1 Flight Doubles Team
  • FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 State Runner up in 2021 #1 Flight Doubles Team

In honorable mention, we had two teams make it to the finals for the All- Academic Team awards. Women's Tennis (small roster) and Women's Volleyball (large roster).
