Spencer Ends Stellar Career at HCC with Player of the Week Honors

Jazmine Spencer finished the last week of her basketball career at HCC with a stellar performance, earning her FCSAA / NJCAA Region 8 Player Of The Week honors. She started by setting a new HCC record by scoring 50 points against nationally ranked Indian River State College. Her highlights include the following:

  • Averaged 46.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in two games
  • Shot 43.8 percent (28-of-64) from the field, 42.4 percent (14-of-33) from three, and 73.3 percent (22-of-30) from the free throw line
  • Solidified her standing as the nation's leading scorer with two monster performances - 50 points (on 17-of-34) shooting against nationally-ranked Indian River State and 42 in a win vs. Florida SouthWestern

Head Coach, Chris Springs, stated, "it was terrific to watch Jazmine develop her game over the two years to be the top scorer in the nation. She earned it because I know how much work she put in over the two years."
